in amsterdam:
the bicycles are flipping huge- i almost died because my bike wheel got stuck in the tram rail and my whole bike flipped over in the middle of the road. thank god there weren't any cars at that time because i would seriously just have been run over in a flash. and i always can't brake properly because the bike is so damn high, so the other time i had to jump off the bicycle and a car just happened to miss me by an inch. good god. it's fucking scary. i have 16 bruises (and counting...) on both legs from cycling. honestly, who'd have known it'd be this hard??
beers are cheaper than pop/water
they sell beers for 1.15 euros at ikea (wtf??!!)
the parties end by 1am because we start at 8.30pm
the plastic bags cost 20/30 cents euro.
i had my most expensive pee at 50 euro cents a visit.
it's probably easier to buy drugs than a travel adaptor.
i buy fast food off a vending machine wall thingy
i got to know more canadians here than i ever did in 2 years in toronto. likewise, i got to know more dutch people in canada than here.
everything is still very fresh, but now that i have a bike, i'm beginning to feel a little less of a tourist and more of an amsterdam-ian :)
